River Wynde is located on a quiet residential street, in the heart of one of the trendiest shopping districts in Calgary.

We are located in the heart of Kensington village where you can find over a dozen different culinary experiences -Thai, Vietnamese, Italian, Indian, Greek, Irish, English, Mexican and Ethiopian, as well as numerous coffee houses, bistros, pubs and lounges. Our main street, just a quick stroll from our front door, offers unique shops which stock wines, teas, lingerie, antique toys, music, beeswax products, eco clothing, candy and chocolates, books, Latin American import goods, aromatherapy bath products, coffee and imported furniture and home décor.

If you are interested in some pampering during your stay, our small village boasts half a dozen spas, a yoga center and several holistic treatment facilities. Don’t miss the neighbourhood’s superb cupcake bakery !

A short walk away (one and a half blocks) brings you to our network of trails, pathways and parks that line the river and edge the downtown core. Ask about our loaner bikes and trail maps. Don’t forget to set aside a few hours to do “De’s Walk”- a self guided tour of the downtown core that reveals the charm of Calgary as seen by a local!

We are located near the beautiful Bow River and walking distance to our theatre district, many dining options, nightlife, museums, art galleries, performance spaces and parks galore!

Within minutes you can access the Jubilee Auditorium, Eau Claire Market, Calgary’s vibrant downtown core, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, University of Calgary, Foothills Hospital, TELUS Science Center, and the TELUS Convention Center. We are walking distance from the meeting spaces at Calgary’s major hotels.

We are one and a half blocks away from the light rail system that forms backbone of our transit system and connects most areas of our widespread city. We are a short train ride away from the Stampede Grounds and Scotiabank Saddledome, the Chinook Center Mall, Heritage Historical Park, the famous Calgary Zoo and Fish Creek Park.

Easy access to Highway 1 and Memorial Drive allows for ease of travel to the airport, Banff and the Rocky Mountains and north to Edmonton, Jasper and Northern Alberta and east to Drumheller, Medicine Hat and the Saskatchewan border .
